EN: There is one activity that has changed my life in the last months. I don’t exaggerate when I state that since December 2018, my family and I have lived the hardest times of our lives. With the stress of daily life, and the stress of our situation, I have thought several times that I wouldn’t make it.
I don’t believe in new age, I don’t like emptying my mind in meditation nor stating things believing that they’ll happen because I say so. I am sceptic towards everything depending on my attitude, I agree we must be positive, but not naïve. Besides being positive doesn’t mean my problems will disappear.
I do believe in prayer, but sometimes my mind is not silent enough to engage in it. Something that has actually made a difference in my life, because it prepares me for prayer or acceptation, is journaling. It helps me to remember important facts, to organize and to understand my ideas, to purify my emotions and to take out what I don’t want inside of me.
¿Qué es el journaling? / What is journaling?
EN: It is like having a diary to write down whatever you want, without the pressure of writing daily, but trying to visually enhance the content.
It is an activity bonding expression and creativity with detail to achieve relaxation.
¿Cómo lo hago? / How do I do it?
EN: I have two journals: one of ideas where I write everything there is in my mind, positive or negative. Sometimes I look for prompts, which are most often questions that help me understand my feelings better. The idea is to take everything out and then analyze what can have a place in my life and what should be forgiven and let go of.
The journal I like the most, however, is the biblical one. Sometimes I copy a Bible verse, sometimes a whole chapter, and while I draw around I reflect on it. Sometimes I draw, others I highlight the parts that stand out to me the most. This is the journal I use the most because sometimes it is the only one I need to understand what is happening in life. I am not good at memorizing verses, but with this activity I remember and understand with more clarity the content of Scripture. This activity must work wonders after a lectio divina.

Excelente dia!
